Health Talk

The Lord’s and Dames  Senior Citizen Ministry will be organizing a Health Talk on Thursday , 30^th Oct 2014 at 8:00p.m, at Dewan St Henry, first floor conference room .

The theme, “Diabetes and Awareness of Diabetes”  by Dr. Lee Man Pin (Former Consultant Physician of General Hospital Batu Pahat).  All are welcome!

Day of Obligation for All Saints Day &Mass for All Souls Day

Applying the decision of the Catholic Bishops conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, in our Diocese of Melaka-Johor, for the State of Johor where Friday and Saturday are official weekends, the Friday Sunset Mass covers the All Saints Day obligation and Sunday Mass obligation.

The Liturgy of All Saints day shall be used for Sunset Mass on Friday(31/10/2014)and all Masses on Saturday (1/11/14).

Weekend Retreat

Fr.Edmund Woon will be directing a weekend retreat with the theme “From Grief to New Life” from Dec 12th-14th, 2014 (Fri-Sun), at St.John Vianney Retreat House, Majodi. Payment is at RM220.00 for single room and RM200.00 per person for two beds sharing room. For details of the retreat please refer to the poster attached. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In today's Gospel passage , Jesus says the greatest commandment of all is, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.”  Do we manifest this in our lives ? Do we make any attempts? How much of our heart do we normally give to God? Are we restricted in how much love we give the Living God, who gave us His only Son! How often are our minds, our thoughts, dedicated to him? What’s the state of our soul right now? Is it filled with God's presence, or far short of that? If we really love God, we’re going to want to spend time with him through daily prayer, attending Mass( Daily Masses too)  and reading the Bible, surfing through Catholic websites like EWTN.com . If we really love God, we’re going to want to please him, just as we desire to please those we love here on earth. If we really love God, we’re going to give our lives to him, just as we make all types of sacrifices for those we love here on earth. Are you utterly in love with God?

Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ,

 It is important that we prepare ourselves well for Mass each week. Attending Mass is indeed a heavenly banquet. A big celebration that opens wide the doorway to heaven, where all the Angels, Saints and Our Lady are all present to worship and honor Jesus Christ our  Bridegroom.  It is a foretaste of the eternal wedding banquet. If we are truly ready for this banquet every Friday and Saturday, we will  be ready to respond with joy, readiness, peace and love whenever the Lord should come for us. We need to ensure that the wedding garment that we receive at our baptism  should be white whilst giving out the fragrance of the " heavenly softener" which is the virtues and love. Friends,  If we put God first  and give Him our best each week, we can be confident we’re giving him our best in our lives and therefore ready to see Him when He comes again. Then, and only then, can we live without fear, and in confidence and joyous expectation of his coming. The Gospel is good news, it is truth, meant to set us free. If we accept it and live it, we can respond with King David in the beautiful responsorial psalm today,
 “I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days
