Malacca Johore Diocese Census
Beginning end September and throughout the month of October 2019,
the diocese will be carrying out a census at all Masses in all the Churches and
Chapels of our diocese.
Why a census? The purpose
is to update the diocese and parish information for pastoral care, outreach and
planning at all levels. We want to be an inclusive Church and not leave behind
anyone. This is especially important as we prepare for our diocese Jubilee in
2022. The last census was conducted nearly a decade ago, and much has changed
since then.
Who is concerned by
the Census? All Catholic parishioners and visitors are invited to
complete one census card each. If you have infants, children and adult family
members, kindly take one card EACH. If you have family members away from Church
this weekend, sick or homebound, please fill for them too. If you are a visitor
or not a Catholic but accompanying someone to Church, you may fill a card too,
if you wish. Those currently learning the Catholic faith may also fill a card.
Where to get the
cards? The Census cards will be distributed at Masses by the local
parish census team, as well as made available at the parish Help desks for
anyone who have not filled the cards. The cards exist in four languages. Some
parishes may need to visit the BECs to collect additional census data. This can
be done during the third and fourth weekends.
What information? The census
information required are: Name in full, address, gender, year of birth, contact
information, sacraments received and any pastoral care needed. Please fill-in
the cards in romanised alphabets only.
Data
confidentiality. Please note that all data collected will be kept in the
strictest confidence and will be used for Church purposes only. Thank you for
your cooperation.
All Souls Day Mass Offering
For
those who would like to offer Mass on All Souls Day, kindly make your mass
offering at the parish office during office hours.
Mass
offering MUST be sent in before Monday, 28th October 2019.
Envelopes
are available at the parish office. Thank you.
