What is ECUMENISM

ECUMENISM is the religious initiative towards world wide Christian unity.  It involves promoting co-operation  and improved understanding among the mainstream Christians and  all denominational churches separated by doctrines, history and practices.

To promote ECUMENISM, the Melaka -Johor Diocesan Ecumenism and Inter-religious Dialogue Committee will be holding a DAY OF INTER-RELIGIOUS HARMONY on  SATURDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2015. . The Eucharistic celebration will be followed by presentations by various religious groups at  the Dewan St, Henry.

Opening of the “Jubilee Year Door” at Sacred Heart Cathedral J.B.

Bishop Paul Tan will preside at the 6:00pm Mass on the 3rd week of Advent 

on Saturday the 12th December 2015, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 

Johore Bahru.  Thereafter , he will open the external door of the Adoration 

Room there and will declare the “Jubilee Year Door” opened.

During the period of the Year of Mercy i.e. from 8th December 2015 till 

20th November 2016, anyone who enters by this “ Jubilee Year Door” shall 

gain the indulgences as announced by our Holy Father, Pope Francis.

of God, we must be as a little child; dependent on God our Father. Our
relationship with God and with God's children is important. This is wealth. We
are to abandon anything especially FEAR and PRIDE that hinders our pursuit of
