Simply keeping rules is not going to gain us salvation. Only a real sense of repentance can do that. Lent challenges us to examine our relationship with God. HE is willing to help us grow and mature, but HE expects us to bear fruit. Confession helps us confront our spiritual laziness and to see how we are spending the time we have been given. Have a grace filled season of Lent.
