PROTECT YEAR 4: CUT FLY LESS Airplanes emit around 100 times more CO2 per hour than a shared bus or train ride, and the emissions of global aviation are around 1 billion tons of CO2 per year, more than the emissions of most countries.  The total carbon impact of a single long flight is so high that avoiding just one trip can be equivalent (petroleum) car-free for a year.  Fly less from today onwards.  Fly only necessary, fly economy and choose -stop flights.

Malacca Johore Diocese Young People Day   The Malacca Johore Diocese Young People Council – North-Central Johore Vicariate  will be organizing this year’s Malacca Johore Diocese Young People Day (MJDYPD) on November 24, 2023 at St. Louis Church, Kluang, from 10.00am- 4.00pm. The theme for this year’s MJDYPD is “Mary arose and went with haste,” (Lk 1:39). Bishop Bernard Paul will be the main celebrant. PROTECT YEAR 4: CUT AIR POLLUTION One of the biggest contributors to air pollution is vehicles burning petroleum.  Air pollution contributions to the early deaths of almost 9 million people a year from the young to the old.  It is linked to heart disease, lung cancer, stroke and other diseases.  Burning petrol/diesel also causes global heating.  Resolve today to cut fuel consumption and save lives.
Prayer for the Migrants Merciful and loving Father, we beseech, open our hearts so that we may provide hospitality and refuge to migrants who are lonely, afraid, and far from their homes.  Give us the courage to welcome every stranger as Christ in our midst, to invite them into our communities as demonstration of Christ’s love for us.  We pray that when we encounter the other, we see in her the face of your Son, when we meet a stranger, that we take his hand in welcome.
